16 October, 2024 – Kuta, Bali: The Asian Surf Cooperative (ASC) and Persatuan Selancar Ombak Indonesia (PSOI) are proud to announce that this year’s Liga Surfing Indonesia Grand Final will be held at the iconic surf location of Uluwatu from 18-20 October, with Kala Surf Camp and BINTANG Crystal as the presenting sponsors and supported by Single Fin, BGS, Biznet, and the Uluwatu Boardriders. A live broadcast from Asian Surf Broadcasting will share this exciting boardriders grand final competition via the ASC’s YouTube and Facebook channels, and there will be highlights and regular updates from the LSI Instagram @ligasurfingindonesia and ASC’s Instagram @asiansurfco
12 of Indonesia’s best surfing clubs will be bringing their top performing surfers to Bali from as far away as Sumatra and West Sumbawa to join in the Grand Finals for this 4th annual event, which promised to both entertain and impress during the 3 full days of competition at world famous Uluwatu. To qualify for participation in the event, each club had a requirement to run 5 of their own club events, after which the club and its top 4 surfers in each division are eligible to participate in this LSI Grand Final 2024.
Competition divisions include Men’s and Women’s Shortboard and Longboard, Masters, Junior, Under 10, and Club Challenge, with the winners and finalists receiving trophies, cash and prizes from event sponsors, and along with the prestige of being an LSI Champion.
“We’re so excited to be holding our 4th LSI Grand Final at Uluwatu, which is such an iconic location and wave and gives the top boardriders club’s talents a real reward for their excellent surfing during the 2024 season” said ASC’s Tipi Jabrik. “Thanks to Kala Surf Camp and Bintang Crystal, as well as the Uluwatu Boardriders, BGS, and Single Fin for their support, and to Biznet for providing speedy internet so we can broadcast this event live to the world. Together with the PSOI we welcome all the participating surf clubs to this amazing event, and encourage everyone to come out to Uluwatu and support this super exciting event, or if you’re not in Bali, watch it on our YouTube channel.”
The wave forecast shows pumping waves through the weekend, so you’re sure to see some amazing surfing and dramatic showdowns from the best of Indonesia’s boardriders clubs and their surfers. Liga Surfing Indonesia Background:
The Liga Surfing Indonesia brings together Indonesia’s top surf clubs in a yearly competition series directed at creating a sustainable pathway of surfing development, starting with boys and girls 10 years and younger, then Junior and Open men and women (16 to 35) shortboard and longboard, and Masters (over 35 years in age), professionally organized and managed in line with established industry rules and codes of conduct. Each club runs 5 individual events to determine the rankings in each division, and the top four ranked surfers in each division are eligible to compete in the Grand Final against the other club’s top ranked surfers. The Live Heats online competition program is used by the clubs for scoring the surfers and determining rankings.
The Liga Surfing Indonesia is sanctioned by the PSOI (Persatuan Selancar Ombak Indonesia), operated by the ASC (Asian Surf Cooperative), presented by Bintang Crystal and Kala Surf Camp, with supporting sponsors Single Fin, BGS, Biznet, and the Uluwatu Boardriders.
