24 September, Kuta-Bali: Massive congratulations go out to Indonesia’s Bronson Meydi who took his 3rd Pro Junior win of the season this last weekend at the IBK Hyuga Pro in Japan to jump over previous 1st place holder and fellow Indonesian Pajar Ariyana, and land firmly atop the Asian Region rankings. Meydi’s win last Sunday was right off the back of a win the previous weekend at the IBK Mayazaki Pro, making for two straight wins in a row!
Meydi started the year with a win at the Krui Pro Junior back in June, earning him his first 1,000 points, then had a 4th place finish at the Nias Pro Junior, but now his recent trip to Japan netted him another 2,000 points from winning back to back events for a total of 3,600 points.
Bai’s Pajar Ariyana is not far behind in second place with 3,400 points, having posted a win at the Nias Pro, the runner up spot at the Nias Pro, 4th place at Miyazaki, and a semifinal finish at Hyuga.
So with two Indonesian’s in the top two spots, and potentially only two more events remaining in the 2024 season, Bronson Meydi looks all but assured of a spot in the 2024 WSL World Junior Championships, and hopefully with a strong finish Pajar can get a wildcard and join him.
Congratulations to Bronson and Pajar!!! The future of Indonesian pro surfing is clearly very bright indeed.
