Moana Jones Wong dominated the women’s division, showcasing her exceptional talent and fearless approach to secure the top spot with a commanding performance.
The event brought together surfers from Australia, Indonesia, Hawaii, and beyond. With powerful waves and thick barrels, the competitors delivered a spectacular display of skill and precision. Noa Deane stood out with his powerful and stylish surfing, scoring 13.50 in the final heat to secure his win. Event Director Harrison Mann commented on the day’s conditions: “After flawless conditions during the Trials & Round 1, today was not the conditions we were hoping for on finals day. However, it highlighted the barrel-riding skill of our two champions, making them deserving winners.”

Mason Ho, known for his fearless and innovative style, took on the barrels with his usual flair, delivering a thrilling spectacle. Joel Parkinson, a former world champion, demonstrated his expertise with smooth, controlled surfing throughout the competition.
Local hero Bol Adi Putra, with his deep knowledge of Padang Padang, navigated the waves with impressive skill. His performance underscored why he is considered one of Bali’s top surfers, making the most of the conditions and resonating with the local crowd.

Now celebrating “21 Years of Tubes,” The Rip Curl Cup Invitational at Padang Padang is Indonesia’s longest-running and most prestigious surfing competition, and the only World Surf League invitational contest featuring the world’s greatest tuberiders alongside Indonesia’s best.
In 2024 the Rip Curl Cup celebrates its 21-year anniversary with one of the most exclusive fields in professional surfing: just 24 invited surfers – twelve of Indonesia’s finest and twelve of the world’s elite. The limited number of surfer invitations ensures this will be a “one-day, one-swell” event, increasing the likelihood of spectacular conditions and incredible performances. When contest directors determine an ideal Padang swell lining up in the Indian Ocean, the green light will be given and competitors will have 48 hours to make it to Bali’s Bukit Peninsula.
The waiting period for the 2024 Rip Curl Cup spans an entire month, from August 1-31, during the peak of Indonesia’s prime swell season, providing the event with the highest chance of scoring the spitting green barrels the Balinese Pipeline is world-famous for.
