After a spectacular start, the competition is heating up, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next rounds. The first day of the event saw some intense battles, with surfers showcasing their skills in near-perfect conditions, setting the stage for an exhilarating Round 2.
Mason Ho currently leads the competition with a total score of 17.07, showcasing his exceptional tube-riding skills. Noa Deane is close behind, needing just 9.07 points to overtake the lead. Joel Parkinson and I Made Adi Putra are also in the mix, demonstrating that the battle for the top spot is far from over.

Confirmed athletes include Moana Jones Wong, a two-time Pipe Master, alongside Jasmine Studer, Erin Brooks, and Ziggy Aloha Mackenzie. They will be joined by Kailani Johnson, Willow Hardy, Taina Angel Izquierdo, and Coco Ho. With such a talented field, the women’s division promises to deliver high-intensity performances and showcase the best of women’s surfing talent.
This year, Rip Curl has introduced a new non-elimination format to give surfers the best chance to show their skills. Each athlete’s two best rides from all their heats will count towards their final score. At the end of Round 2, the top four surfers with the highest combined scores will advance to the final, ensuring that only the best performances make it through.
